Historian of Science

Science has its own history. Each breakthrough as human beings explore the world around them (and the universe) changes past understandings of that subject. Historians of science tell the stories of these breakthroughs and changing understandings. Historian of Science Paul D. Brinkman did not know that uniting his passions for geology and history in one career was possible until a role model at Chicago’s Field Museum suggested that he study the history of science.  Now he works at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and teaches courses on deep time and dinosaurs at North Carolina State University.
