Genetic engineers make changes in DNA in order to solve problems faced by living organisms. Fyodor Urnov, together with a team of colleagues, uses nanotechnology to repair errors known as “mutations.” These mutations cause genetic diseases such as beta-thalassemia and Huntington’s disease.
