We’ve been very busy and productive at Math4Science recently, improving our website, adding content to it, and getting our legal and financial house in order.
Thanks to Director of Product Mia Otte, our beta website (Math4Science.org) is fully functional, with a beautiful logo, a mission statement, some great information about M4S, and especially several informative bios of scientists working in exciting fields, including astrophysicists Scott Tremaine and Lucianne Walkowicz, physical ecologist Manuel Lerdau, and spacecraft systems engineer Paul Mirel. Each of these professionals generously shared their interests and experiences with us so that Math4Science students can learn more about the amazing careers open to them. We are now interviewing several more scientists, and will continue to add to the bios we already have. Be sure to explore the whole site, and come back often to see more.
On the business side, we have completed a detailed three-year business plan as part of our preparation for establishing legal status as a registered non-profit corporation. Writing the plan was a bracing and clarifying exercise that forced us to articulate to ourselves a clear vision for the coming months and years. We will soon be better able to execute that plan, when we are fully certified as a 501(c) (3) corporation, able to solicit tax-deductible support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
In all, spring is a time of new growth at Math4Science. The months to come will bring rapid progress, so stay tuned.
